1. Rock Mechanics Engineer/ Geotechnical Engineer Jr. Superintendent
Job Summary

The position is responsible in conducting engineering geology and rock mechanics studies both on surface and underground, and provide management with the timely advise on mitigating measures and/or appropriate action/s which could directly or indirectly affect human lives, company operations and property.


Duties and Responsibilities
OPERATION/SERVICES
Duties

• Coordinates the detailed gathering of geo technical data and the systematic filing of all engineering logs and other geo-technical information.
• Supervises underground RMR-Structural mapping and update of all level maps.
• Ensures that required underground supports are communicated to concerned section and /or individual.
• Coordinates with geo-technical laboratories regarding services needed for the preparation and analysis of engineering samples when necessary.
• Coordinates with company consultants and Bureau of Mines personnel on matters regarding geo-technical engineering, including municipal and barangay officials.
• Prepares and justifies periodic requirement for supplies and job orders.
• Conducts feasibility studies of innovations to the mining operation.
• Performs mine operations audit and mine technical and financial estimates.
• Does job related activities assigned to him by his superior.


PERSONNEL
Duties:

• Orients the Rock Mechanics/Geotech Aide of his job description, department business plans, goals and objectives, company vision, mission, values, policies, rules and regulations and current communications affecting him.
• Conducts on-the-job training of the Rock Mechanics/Geotech Aide and schedules him to attend skills and behavioral seminars to meet his career development requirement.
• Endorses approval of leave application of the Rock Mechanics/Geotech Aide.

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT and SECURITY
Duties:

• Prepares and implements the annual safety, health, security and environmental enhancement objectives and plans of his section in support to the department.
• Participates in the department monthly safety, health, security and environmental audit.
• Immediately corrects the unsafe acts of team members through on the spot advice and improvement of hazardous workplace conditions.
• Attends and actively participates in the Mine Operations Supervisors and MEGG monthly operational, safety, health, environmental and security meetings.

MACHINE, EQUIPMENT, MATERIALS and SUPPLIES
Duties:

• Prepares the machine, equipment, materials and supplies annual budget of his section.
• Prepares the purchase requisition and withdrawal documents of the MEMS as needed for the approval of the department head.
• Implements the timely procurement, safe withdrawal and delivery, orderly storage, control of issuance and proper utilization and maintenance of the machine, equipment, materials and supplies of his section.

SYSTEMS, METHODS and PROCEDURES
Duties:

• Implements the current rock mechanics system and procedures.
• Reviews and updates the current rock mechanics operational systems, methods and procedures.
• Researches and develops innovations to current rock mechanics practices.

COST REDUCTION and CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Duties:

• Conceptualizes and develops the rock mechanics section annual continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
• Implements the planned cost reduction and continuous improvement projects of the section.

Job Qualifications:

• Education: Licensed Mining Engineer, Geologist or Civil Engineer
• Experience: Minimum experience of three (3) year experience in geotechnical engineering.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Good inter-personal and managerial capabilities and able to relate with all levels of society.
• Knowledge in Microsoft applications; Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and simple percentages. Has the ability to learn and advance to higher position. Communicate and take instructions both in verbal and written English.

Working Condition

At least 4 day a week work in the UG and at designated office.

2. Rock Mechanics Engineer/Geotechnical Engineer
JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position is responsible for the proper handling and storage of cores and sample rejects and the preparation and submission of core samples geotech measurement reports; surface and underground mapping and accountable for the direct supervision of proper ground supports installation in various underground openings and to provide his crew with correct equipment and supplies for productive and efficient output.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Conducts measurements of core recovery and RQD of all diamond drill cores.
2. Conducts proper laying-out of core boxes for geotechnical and mineralogical logging.
3. Assists in the update of geotechnical log in the computer files.
4. Assists the Rock Mechanics Engineer in the updating of maps and computer files when necessary.
5. Assists the Rock Mechanics Engineer in conducting borehole surveys, RMR mapping underground and surface and landslide mapping
6. Monitors rock support in compliance with the standard.
7. Operates and maintains equipment with minimal supervision such as core-splitter and point load tester.
8. Perform other related functions assigned by superiors.
